An Eye to the Future

Mendocino Railway is part of Sierra Railroad, which also includes Sierra Northern Railway, Railpower, and Sierra Energy. Together, our family of companies is pioneering sustainable rail operations, including the development of hydrogen-powered locomotives designed to dramatically reduce emissions across freight and passenger service.

We’ve recently secured major federal RRIF financing to restore tunnels, bridges, track, and other assets. In addition, we’ve secured a CRISI grant to replace three Tier 0 locomotives to Tier IV. As we expand capabilities in freight services, transload operations, infrastructure, and alternative-energy rail, this is a place where you can build a career on the cutting edge of sustainable transportation.
